Where is the Tatacoa desert located?

Huila is located in the Andean region of southwestern Colombia, bordering Tolima to the north, Cundinamarca and Caquetá to the east, Putumayo to the south, and Cauca and Nariño to the west.

How to Get to the Tatacoa Desert?

The fastest way to get from Bogotá to Neiva is by plane. There are direct flights available from Bogotá's El Dorado International Airport to Neiva's La Marguita Airport. The flight lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

A more economical option is to travel by bus, with frequent departures during the day from any major city in the country, from Bogotá the journey takes approximately 6 hours.

Once in Neiva, you can head to the Tatacoa Desert by taking a bus from the city to the municipality of Villavieja. There are several bus companies that offer this service, with frequent departures during the day. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes and the cost of the ticket is around $10,000 COP.

Once you arrive in Villavieja, you can take a taxi or a mototaxi to the desert. The cost of the taxi is around $20,000 COP and the mototaxi is around $10,000 COP. You can also rent a car in Neiva and drive to the desert.
